thx for the infos & nice special serie; i was asking me if all my sources was fraqd :p... i feel better haha...;)

just a detail...i have the 3 crysis (wars & Warhead and the first) here on my rig the more demanding is the first one ; i have better performances on warhead & wars on both pc (phenom & 9800gtx+/sli and athlon & 8800gt/oc)

in fact imho crysis original is still the biggest cpu eater i ve seen

fyi i found my 9800GTX+ for 99 euros each (end of series & liqudation prices) ;these babys allow tripple sli and i m secretly hunting a am2+deluxe mobo(3 pcie slots :p);compared to a 8800gt it only grab around 1000 3dmk06 points but the fluidity in game is totally another world....just in case if one of these gfx cross yer road ;)

looks like i'm gonna have to start again from scratch :( the pc's been running sweet as a nut all day while i've been installing & setting up connors games, finaly put it in his room, & after an hour of playing Worl At War.....

it blew up......

well, ok, thats a bit dramatic, but it went with a hell of a bang, & triggered the safety pannel on the fuse box & sent the house into darkness, & as my little boys autistic, you can imagine how he handled it :(.............

anyway, got the ellecy back on, & switched my pc on, & the Mac mini, & took connors pc back, the psu's burmed.. literally soot black. i'd left my dads psu in as it was a 500watt ExCool, so it shoulda been better than the generic 450watt one that was running his old (& more energy hungry) pc, hindsights a great thing init :( put the old psu back in, but theres no sign of life, psu won't even fire, so i dropped it back into the p4 system & it tried to boot (no gfx or drives)

so, the psu's ok, i then start stripping the devices out of the Asus 939 board & trying them in the p4 system, so far, nowts working, the 7900gtx causes bios beep/alerts, & when i put the dvd drive & sata hard drive into external caddies, they are just not recognised in any way, XP detects the device bridge & interface, but can't see the drives...

gonna have to let connor use mine full time till i can get sorted, cos of his condition, he can't accept/understand why he cant play his games etc...

am now mooching on fleabay for...
psu
GFX card
CPU (gonna be cheaper to resuerect his skt775 board)
& a trip to scan for a Hard drive & dvd burner.... well, in a few weeks anyway, as i'm skint.

these thing allways happen at the best of times rofl... i should be in coronation ST, my lifes allways shuch a drama grrrrrr...

thank god i have some diazepam lol..........................

my main 750gig sata drive that i boot from just started getting the clicks of death.... some how i don't think it's a coincidence :(

oh well, it's only a couple of months old, so at least it's under warrenty....

do u think that the hd have toasted the psu ? did u try to retire the battery from the deluxe? to reinialize all? perhaps some surtension security on that kind of mobo....really not sure but sometimes the best way is to try all....the battery off 10 seconds and the jumper thing saved me several times from diverse big freezes and other permanent black n blue screens with beep sessions:p...dunno how u name that reboot/restore/reinitialisation in english ;)

i tried swapping the cmos battery, still dead :( & all the computers in the house are on powersurge protectors as well, so i dunno how it got so bad :(

i dont trust anymore on thoses powersurges(except ondulators) i remember4 years ago
all the system on powersurge and one fraqn blitz.....2 computers...2 tv....and a complete hifi out ...the powersurge itself was fused and was crossed by the blitz....SHAME !

....just an idea...and if the mobo was guilty? it can easily burn all around...psu....gfx....and why not hd...all is plugged in the mobo

what is really weird is the death of the gfx and the click on the hd ; habitually a psu just die and die alone in a little smoke smell how the hell it have disrupt all the house is a pure mystery because it had to be a big problem to do so :p

the drive thats gone (& it has died now) is the boot drive from my own pc.... never had any problems with it before the ellecy went yesterday, & as it's right next to me i heard the clicks as soon as it started...

this is gonna prove to be an expensive failure :( & i'm more gutted that i lost 500+ gigs worth of hi-def movies when the drive died, i had backups untill yesterday, cos the drive i emptied for connors install was my backup drive, & that got killed when the PSU went... was gonna burn everything to dvd today lol....

still, at least i can still play MW2 on the ps3 lol... so all is not lost :P

hey og did u try ur insurance? i got all parts payed from them on the three electrical crashes i had here...first was the lightning: pc,tv & hifi payed....second the main compressor of my cooling systemin cheese labo have die... i choosed a thundering day and wrote to them that the lighting did damages:full money back...third time the command of my round baller on tractor: lol thunder again :)...75% money back....i ll wait some times now for my next thundering session :p
the company will ask an expertise....choose the more expensive shop of the town for expertise ...and rebuy ur pc in the supermaket...was abble to buy a pc with x2 more power this way )and more funny i have keep the toasted one and i had only to change the psu....one of the best deal in ma life ;)....)
normaly here everyone have electrical damages in his house insurance contract ;)

hehe :) i could do that, but the last time we made a claim (bath overflow leaked & damaged the kitchen cieling) they put our policy up by 20% at renewall :( so not realy worth it in the long run as i'm gonna give connor my system eventually..
